Where the gap is widest: automated governance

xtype customers are 4.8x more likely to catch drift with a dedicated automated system, and 5x more likely to report zero delivery delays from cross-instance inconsistencies. On unified audit trails, 90% of xtype customers run on automation (fully or partially); only 69% of non-customers do.

The shift carries into the human side of the platform, too. xtype customers are far less likely to let developers keep production admin (9% vs 39%), and more likely to scope developer admin to non-prod or dev-only environments. Tight privilege separation is the rule, not the exception. That is what speed with safety looks like in practice.

xtype customers clone more frequently than non-customers (23% report frequent cloning vs 6%), a reflection of larger footprints and more complex multi-environment workflows. Despite that, disruption levels are broadly comparable. Clone-related effort sits in a tighter, more predictable band: xtype customers are more likely to report 6-10 hours of preparation and 3-10 hours of post-clone recommit.

The xtype cohort is not advantaged by tenure or by industry. On tenure, xtype customers skew toward 6-10 and 10+ years, but so does the broader sample. On industry, the xtype base is heavily regulated, but so is 51% of the overall sample. What separates the cohorts is operating posture: automated drift detection, unified audit trails, scoped privilege, aligned release cycles. Governance maturity is not a function of who you are. It is a function of what you have decided to automate, and the customers in this cohort decided early.
